## Process

Taking a deep dive into an AP course?

Our PhD candidates and professors, many of whom teach introductory college level courses already, love teaching AP material. We’re excited to join you on this academic journey.

1

### Enroll in an AP course at your high school or contact us to set up an independent tutorial

Most students take AP-level courses through their high schools. If your high school does not offer AP-level courses, or a particular AP course you’re interested in, we can create an independent study for you.
2

### Register for the exam

Usually, exam registration happens by October of the academic year, and the AP coordinator at your high school facilitates this process. If you do not have an AP coordinator, or you’re otherwise not sure how to register for the exam, reach out to College Board.
3

### Understand the scope of knowledge and the skill set for which you will be responsible

AP exams are designed to assess your command of an introductory body of knowledge as well as accompanying skills relevant for the subject you are studying. Every AP exam has a Course and Exam description which lays out what you need to know. You should familiarize yourself with the roadmap of your exam.
4

### Spend quality time studying and retaining the material

The AP Exam is intentionally designed as the capstone to a yearlong academic course, not as a test to cram. However you decide to prepare– through a course, a tutorial with us, self-study, or, ideally, all of the above–make sure you give yourself the opportunity to engage deeply with the subject over time. Once you have a handle on the material you’re studying, you’ll practice using it in the context of the AP by taking full and partial practice exams.
5

### Take a breath before and after you sit for the exam

The AP provides a unique opportunity to build a foundational understanding in a college subject, while also giving you a chance to earn college credit. Take pride in this accomplishment, whatever the outcome of the exam.
