Alix is a writer, playwright, and performer born and raised in New York. She attended Brown University where she studied creative writing and performance, graduating with a BA in the Performing Arts. Then, to everyone's surprise, she then followed love north and spent almost a decade in the deep freeze of Canada. She returned to New York (love in tow) to pursue her MFA at Columbia University, and her writing has gone on to win multiple awards, publications, and productions all over the world.
Alix loves working with students and has taught courses and masterclasses at Columbia University, Barnard College, Brown University, and Gettysburg College. With Cambridge Coaching, Alix specializes in expository writing, creative writing, and supporting students through the admissions process. She has helped many students successfully craft personal statements that communicate essential information while remaining true to their voices. Alix’s rigorous training has helped her develop techniques and skills that are applicable to all forms of writing, whether creative, academic, or admissions-related. As a freelancer, her clients include the Ad Council, New York Institute of Technology, Columbia University, Doctors of the World, Winnipeg Humane Society, and The Winnipeg Arts Council. She has helped many authors shape their message, find their voice, and tell their stories to the world through her work as a ghostwriter.
When not in a theater or in front of a computer, Alix is an avid crafter, experimenting in the world of cross-stitch, felt toys, and beaded wrap bracelets. She is a cat and dog enthusiast, volunteering with PAWS NYC, and fostering and adopting many animals who have gone on to run her life and household. Despite moving back to New York, she remains a Toronto Raptors fan.
