SPECIALTIES

Biology

Rhea was born in Virginia, but spent most of her childhood growing up in Massachusetts. She majored in Molecular, Cellular and Developmental Biology at Yale University, where she completed her thesis research on studying the effects of m6A RNA modifications on blood system development and leukemia. She was awarded the Alan M. Bateman Science Prize for overall excellence in the natural sciences. Outside of biology, Rhea fostered her love of creative writing through various English classes. After graduating in 2019, Rhea combined these two interests by working as a healthcare journalist covering diabetes and obesity drug development out of San Francisco. She is currently an MD candidate at Harvard Medical School in the Pathways Program and is passionate about improving mental health care and resources.

Rhea has served in multiple peer support roles, including as a Senior Associate in her journalism work and Residential Counselor at Yale Summer Sessions. On the admissions front, Rhea served as an Undergraduate Admissions Counselor at Yale, interviewing high school seniors. She has experience reviewing college and medical school applications and conducting mock interviews. With Cambridge Coaching, she specializes in tutoring biology.

In her free time, Rhea enjoys cooking, reading, playing the cello, and amateur beekeeping. She tries to visit her family’s Newfypoo Petie as much as possible.
