Originally from Pomona, New York, Sam is a life-long learner who has loved working with young people as a tutor, teacher, camp counselor, and mentor for more than a decade. She graduated cum laude from Harvard College with a Bachelor of Arts in History and Literature (with a focus in American studies). Sam has two years of professional experience working as a paralegal at a law firm in New York City. Sam will next pursue her JD at the University of Pennsylvania Carey Law School’s (Class of 2026).

In addition to her legal interests, Sam has extensive teaching and tutoring experience. She has been tutoring students one-on-one since high school in subjects ranging from standardized test prep to English language arts. Sam was offered positions with both Teach for America and Harvard Teaching Fellows; ultimately, she decided to pursue a legal career, but she still loves building personalized, supportive relationships with motivated students through individual tutoring, enabling her students to develop a sense of confidence in their academic abilities. Sam also has classroom teaching experience: she previously worked as a ninth- and tenth-grade English teacher at a private high school. Sam cares deeply about getting to know her tutoring clients as individuals and giving every client a positive tutoring experience, making a point to ask them about their lives outside of the classrooms, to cater their lessons to their goals and needs, and to maintain excellent communication and availability throughout the tutoring relationship.

When she’s not tutoring, Sam enjoys volunteering for her high school and college, singing with the Grace Church Choral Society, and reading dystopian fiction.
