Emma Zc.
Emma holds a PhD in French Literature from Harvard University. Previously, she earned her BA and BM, summa cum laude, from the University of Minnesota-Twin Cities. Her doctoral dissertation examined the representation of music as a tool of social critique in the modern French novel.

Chelsea M.
Chelsea earned her MD-PhD in the Harvard/MIT MD-PhD Medical Scientist Training Program (MSTP) at Harvard Medical School. She received her PhD in Population Health Sciences, Epidemiology from the Harvard TH Chan School of Public Health. Chelsea is now a Resident in Anesthesiology at Mass General Hospital.

Graham V.
Graham holds an MD (Vanderbilt University Medical School) and MBA (Harvard Business School). He earned his BS from MIT in Materials Science & Engineering. Currently, he is an Emergency Medicine Resident at Vanderbilt Medical Center.

Joyce
Joyce is currently an MD candidate at Harvard Medical School. She also graduated summa cum laude and Phi Beta Kappa with a BA in Anthropology from Harvard, where her thesis won the Thomas T. Hoopes Prize.

Susan
Susan studied English at Rice and graduated summa cum laude. After serving in Teach for America, she earned her PhD in English at Harvard. She has held faculty positions at Wake Forest and Yale and currently lives in London.

Pooja studied Biological Sciences & Psychology at Cornell University before attending Weill Cornell Medical College. Presently, she's a pediatric neurology resident at Lurie Children's Hospital.

Adrienne
Adrienne received her English PhD from Harvard University, her MFA from the Iowa Writers' Workshop, and her BA from Princeton University. She is a nonfiction writer and poet, and teaches in the Writing Program at Princeton University.

Aisha
Aisha is a second-year dental student at Harvard School of Dental Medicine. Previously, she graduated summa cum laude with a degree in Psychology from the University of Pennsylvania where she developed and implemented Dental Bridges.

After cofounding the Blue Ridge Irish Music School, a nonprofit in Charlottesville, Virginia, she returned to school and received her doctorate in Music from New York University in 2010.

Elyse
Elyse graduated summa cum laude from the University of Pennsylvania with degrees in Biology and Psychology. After spending a year working as an office administrator for a dental practice, she is currently a student at the University of Pennsylvania School of Dental Medicine, where she received the Dean’s Scholarship in recognition of her academic achievements.

Do I have to major in a science in order to apply to dental school?

How long is dental school?
Most dental programs consist of 4 years of curriculum. -
What is the difference between a DDS and a DMD?
The short answer: there is no difference. The DDS (Doctor of Dental Surgery) and DMD (Doctor of Dental Medicine) are equivalent degrees using the same curriculum requirements set by the American Dental Association. Individual universities determine which degree is awarded. -
What happens to graduates of dental school?
Upon graduating, you can either begin practicing as a general dentist or you can specialize your practice through a residency. -
What are the dental specialties?
There are several dental specialty options: Dental Anesthesiology, Dental Public Health, Endondontics, Oral and Maxillofacial Pathology, Oral and Maxillofacial Radiology, Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery, Orthodontics and Dentofacial Orthopedics, Periodontics, Pediatric Dentistry, and Prosthodontics.
