Graham V.

Graham holds an MD (Vanderbilt University Medical School) and MBA (Harvard Business School). He earned his BS from MIT in Materials Science & Engineering. Currently, he is an Emergency Medicine Resident at Vanderbilt Medical Center.

Jonathan W.

Jonathan is an MPA student at Columbia University School of International and Public Affairs. He earned his Bachelor's from Tufts University, where he double-majored in Politcal Science and Economics.

Paul W.

Paul holds a BA in History (Yale) and MA in Global Affairs (Schwarzman College, Tsinghua University). A recipient of the Fulbright and Schwarzman Fellowships, Paul is currently a Presidential Management Fellow in Washington DC.

Troy

Troy graduated cum laude from Yale, where they received their BA in Ethics, Politics, and Economics. Afterwards, Troy taught middle school math and science in Mississippi as a Teach For America (TFA) Corp Member and led professional development for TFA science teachers in the region.

Alexander V.

Alex earned his Master's in Musicology from Oxford University and his Bachelor's, with a double major in in Mathematics and Music, from Harvard University. He has been tutoring students for over eight years.

Natalia Ic.

Natalia received her BA in History from the City College of New York. She went on to earn a Master's of Science in General and Special Childhood Education at the Bank Street College of Education.

Tess D.

Tess earned her BA in Psychology at Harvard College. After a few years working in entertainment, she's now pursuing a Master's in Developmental Psychology from Columbia University's Teachers College.

Eddy Y.

Eddy graduated summa cum laude from the University of Pennsylvania with a degree in Philosophy, Politics, and Economics and a minor in Marketing/Psychology. Eddy went on to get his teaching certification in secondary mathematics from Penn’s Graduate School of Education and currently works as a middle and high school math teacher in South Philadelphia.

Nadja

Nadja graduated from The Dalton School early, moving on to earn her BA in Psychology at Yale University, cum laude. Nadja was recently selected as a Fulbright Scholar and will serve in Kenya as an English teacher for high school and university students.

Katherine T.

Katherine graduated cum laude from Dartmouth College with a major in Computer Science modified with Film and Media Studies and a minor in Theater - a mouthful! Upon graduation, she accepted a role as Engineering Analyst at Accenture. 

Emily V.

Emily is a PhD student and NSF Graduate Research Fellow at Harvard University studying human evolutionary biology. Prior to graduate school, Emily graduated from Harvard College cum laude with a degree in Human Evolutionary Biology and minor in Chemistry.

Katie C.

Katie graduated summa cum laude from the University of Puget Sound with a Bachelor of Science in Molecular & Cellular Biology and minors in Spanish and Education. Katie is now attending the Harvard Graduate School of Education to learn about the intricate and dynamic nature of being an educator in today’s complex society, with the intention to teach high school science post-graduation.

Emilija

Emilija has a BA in Sociology from Queen’s University, and three Montessori MACTE teaching certifications from the Toronto Montessori Institute for children ages 2.5 through 12. Emilija completed an MA in International Studies in Education at the University of Birmingham, and an M.Ed in Educational Leadership, Organization and Entrepreneurship at the Harvard Graduate School of Education. She also has her Primary Years International Baccalaureate teaching license from the IBO.

Eva E.

Eva is currently an MEd Candidate at the Harvard Graduate School of Education. Previously, she graduated magna cum laude from Vanderbilt University, earning her BA/BS in Child Studies and Medicine, Health, and Society.

Yael

Yael earned a BA in Math and the History of Art and Architecture from Harvard College (magna cum laude, Phi Beta Kappa). In her senior year of college, she began the Harvard Teacher Fellows Program, through which she earned a Masters of Education from the Harvard Graduate School of Education.

Ed P.

Edward holds a JD from Columbia Law School and a MAT in 7-12 Math Education. Previously, he graduated magna cum laude from Boston University. He is currently a high school math teacher in New York City.

James C.

James holds a PhD in Chemical Physics from Columbia and an MS in Chemistry from the University of Chicago. Previously, he graduated magna cum laude from Harvard College. He is currently a high school math teacher in the Boston area.

Nate O.

Nate attended Harvard College before completing a five-year Fellowship appointment in the Harvard Department of Philosophy, where he developed a research-backed method of teaching logical reasoning skills to high school and college students.

Robert

Robert holds both a BA and MA in Chemistry from Harvard University. He is currently applying to PhD programs in the field. Robert’s research experience is in synthetic organic chemistry, specifically in the field of drug design.

Colin M.

Colin attended New York University, where he earned a BA in French (magna cum laude) and an MA in French Studies (cum laude). He then went on to study at Brooklyn College, where he received an MSEd (Special Education - summa cum laude). He is a former middle school special education teacher and department head in the New York City school system.

Yooni

Yooni graduated from Harvard College with a double concentration in computer science and psychology. She has interned primarily as a front-end developer at several companies.

Mike K.

Mike holds an MEd in Science Education and a BA in Romance Languages and Literature from Harvard University. After teaching bilingual middle school science in Boston area classrooms, he is now an MD Candidate at UC San Diego.

Jackie

Jackie graduated from Yale with a double major in History and Classical Civilizations. In November 2023, Jackie was selected as a Rhodes Scholar to pursue a graduate degree in the History of Art and Visual Culture at Oxford University.

Olivia R.

Olivia double majored in Mathematics and Economics and minored in Computing at Notre Dame, graduating summa cum laude as a member of Phi Beta Kappa. She is now an Associate at Boston Consulting Group.

Zoe

Zoë is an MD/PhD student in the Medical Scientist Training Program (MSTP) at UCSF. She earned her B.S. in Neuroscience from UCLA, graduating summa cum laude and receiving highest departmental honors in neuroscience.

Drew K.

Drew holds a BS in Mathematics from the University of Michigan. She is currently a PhD Candidate in Mathematics at UC Berkeley.

Anna D.

Anna holds a BS in Applied Mathematics from Auburn University and an MEd in Secondary Mathematics Education from Vanderbilt University. She has 9 years of teaching experience in both public and private schools. Anna is currently pursuing a PhD in Educational Studies (with a focus on mathematics education) at Boston University.

Madeleine

Madeleine recently graduated from UC Berkeley with a degree in Mathematics. She spent her last year of college studying abroad in Seoul, South Korea, where she researched the societal impacts of artificial intelligence.

Pelin

Pelin, originally from Istanbul, is currently a PhD student at Boston University in the Educational Studies Program, specializing in Math Education. Her research interests include designing math curricula that instill an affection for mathematics, increasing accessibility to productive struggle, promoting culturally responsive teaching, and addressing equity issues in math education.

Lizzie

Lizzie graduated from Ohio State with a BS in Biology (magna cum laude) and high school with honors simultaneously at the age of 18 in 2022. She is now a first year MD-PhD student at UCSF.

Antoine

Antoine holds an MBA from The Wharton School and a BS in Business from The College at Brockport—State University of New York . During his time at Brockport, Antoine excelled as a dual-sport athlete, competing in football and track and field. He trained for the 2016 Olympics and ranked in the top 16 nationally for shot put.

Hakim

Hakim attended Boston University, earning his BA in Mathematics, with minors in Philosophy and Spanish. Before continuing to graduate school, Hakim served as an admissions officer and research analyst at MIT, where he worked to recruit, select, and mentor high-achieving STEM students from around the world. Eventually, Hakim went on to earn his MA and PhD in Mathematics at George Washington University, with a focus in logic and computability theory.

Carly

Carly graduated magna cum laude from Washington University in St. Louis, with a dual degree in American Culture Studies and Spanish. After teaching Spanish and Geometry with Teach for America, Carly is now an Investigative Analyst at the Manhattan District Attorney's Office.

Ben L.

As a full time teacher for 10 years, Ben has taught 7th grade Math, Visual Arts, Theatre, Music, Geometry, and Algebras 1 and 2. He previously owned and operated his own puppet theatre, Sassafrass Junction.

Damilola

Damilola graduated as the salutatorian of her high school class of 600 students before earning her BS in Chemical Engineering from Columbia University, where she researched iron-oxidizing bacteria for mining applications. She then earned an MS in Materials Science and Engineering from the University of Virginia, completing her master’s thesis on phase field modeling of the solidification of high-temperature alloys during additive manufacturing. Currently, she is a PhD candidate and Department of Defense (DoD) National Defense Science and Engineering Graduate (NDSEG) Fellow at the University of Pennsylvania, where she studies the gelation and fracture mechanics of 3D-printable hydrogel composites.

Victoria F.

During her time at Dartmouth, she earned degrees in Neuroscience and Studio Art, receiving honors designation in her majors after completing a thesis in each subject. Victoria currently works as a surgical research coordinator at a Harvard-teaching hospital, where she applies her scientific background to medical research.

Patrick D.

With 17 years of experience teaching various high school subjects in Brooklyn, NY, Patrick has seen it all. He holds a BA in Philosophy from NYU and an M.Ed from Long Island University.

We require a first-time minimum commitment of three 90 minute sessions due to the significant amount of preparation that tutors do in advance of the first few sessions. This initial package is a good way for your child to get their feet wet, evaluate the amount of tutoring they'll ultimately need, and see if they feel comfortable with their tutor.

Tutor Tiers

We have four tiers of tutor, with different hourly rates, which correlate to the tutor’s experience. We evaluate tutors for promotion to higher tiers based on hours worked, student outcomes, qualitative feedback, and volume of client referrals.
