Paul holds a BA in History (Yale) and MA in Global Affairs (Schwarzman College, Tsinghua University). A recipient of the Fulbright and Schwarzman Fellowships, Paul is currently a Presidential Management Fellow in Washington DC.

Charlotte

Charlotte holds a BA with first class honors and distinction in English and Spanish from Oxford University, an MA in Hispanic Studies from Brown, and a postgraduate certificate in translation from the University of Warwick. She has taught Spanish at Brown University and the York School.

Allison H.

Allison graduated cum laude from Williams College with a BA in Arabic Studies. She accepted a full-ride scholarship to the University of Oxford, where she earned a MPhil in Modern Middle Eastern Studies and graduated with first class honors. She currently works for an international non-profit in Washington, D.C.

Julia Cr.

She completed a PhD at Harvard, specializing in Japanese Buddhism (and Buddhist art). Her academic path continued with prestigious postdoctoral fellowships at Yale and Stanford, where she crafted and taught intimate seminar courses for undergraduate and graduate students, presented at international conferences, and published. In addition to her teaching, Julia has served as an editor for university professors and bilingual publications, peer-reviewed scholarly articles in the US and Asia, and authored several peer-reviewed articles.

Sarah graduated from Brown with a BA in History & International Relations. She holds a PhD in History from the University of Hong Kong and the University of Pennsylvania.

Joy

Joy is an MD/PhD candidate at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai. She earned a BS (Biochemistry, Molecular Biology) and BA (Anthropology) from Brown, and completed a postbacc fellowship at the National Cancer Institute.

Ivy D.

Ivy graduated with a BFA in Fine Arts and BAs in Comparative Literature, Anthropology, and French from Cornell University. She's presently a PhD student in Comparative Literature at Harvard.

Scott L.

Scott majored in Classics and Spanish at Bates College, where he wrote two theses. After working in several Special Collections libraries, he is completed a PhD in Romance Languages at UPenn.

Naama holds a BA in Near Eastern Languages & Civilizations from Harvard (magna cum laude), an MPhil from Oxford in Oriental Studies and an MFA in Acting from DePaul. She has over three decades of tutoring experience.

Jack Ra.

Jack graduated from University of Massachusetts, Amherst, with a BA in Chinese and a BA in Linguistics, graduating summa cum laude in both degrees. During undergrad, Jack received the Global Ambassador Summer Program Scholarship and studied at National Cheng Kung University in Tainan. Jack is currently pursuing his PhD in Linguistics at Harvard University.

Baoqing

Baoqing was born and raised in Beijing, where she graduated from Beijing Language and Culture University with a BA in English, before moving to the US in 2014. In the US, Baoqing taught at the Western Michigan University before getting her MA in teaching Chinese at University of Massachusetts Amherst. Baoqing is currently a lecturer of Chinese at Boston University.

Helen G.

Helen graduated magna cum laude from Brandeis University with a dual degree in International/Global Studies and French/Francophone Studies, as well as a minor in East Asian Studies. After working in Shanghai, China for 5 years, she returned to Massachusetts to pursue her Masters of Education in Human Development and Education at the Harvard Graduate School of Education.

Sam holds an undergraduate degree in Physics from Princeton University and an MFA in fiction from the Iowa Writers' Workshop. She currently works at Frederick Oster Fine Violins, where she repairs, appraises, and sells fine and rare instruments.

Sasha

Sasha earned her BS in Physics and Mathematics from MIT and her PhD in Materials Science & Engineering from MIT. Her PhD research focused on engineering new energy-efficient magnetic nanomaterials. While at MIT, she completed two research internships in France, worked as a visiting scientist in a German physics institute, and pioneered a new physics education program in Chile.

Penelope

Penelope attended the University of Chicago, where she graduated with a major in Comparative Literature. She then completed a Master 1 at the Sorbonne Nouvelle in Comparative Literature. She is currently a PhD candidate in Romance Studies - French at Cornell University.

Sofia

Sofía has a BA in Journalism from the University of Southern California and an MA in Education Leadership from the Harvard Graduate School of Education. She also holds an MEd in Bilingual Teacher of Students with Disabilities in Adolescent Education, Grade 7-12 from City College. Currently, Sofía is a middle school bilingual SPED teacher in NYC, working with Spanish speakers in humanities content areas (writing, reading, social studies).

Emilija

Emilija has a BA in Sociology from Queen’s University, and three Montessori MACTE teaching certifications from the Toronto Montessori Institute for children ages 2.5 through 12. Emilija completed an MA in International Studies in Education at the University of Birmingham, and an M.Ed in Educational Leadership, Organization and Entrepreneurship at the Harvard Graduate School of Education. She also has her Primary Years International Baccalaureate teaching license from the IBO.

Brandon H.

Brandon currently teaches at Georgetown University. He holds a PhD in Cultural Anthropology from Princeton, a JD from Georgetown University, and an MA and BA in Latin American Studies from UT at Austin.

Jacob K.

Jacob holds a BS in Computer Science from Washington University in St. Louis, where he graduated magna cum laude. After working on data analytics for the NBA team the Oklahoma City Thunder, he is now a data analyst for CVS Health.

Hyae Won graduated from University of Washington with a double degree in Bioengineering and Biochemistry. She's currently pursuing her MD at Harvard Medical School.

Albert A.

Albert holds an MPhil in Economics from Oxford, an MFA in Fiction from NYU, and a PhD, focused on the theory of comedy, from the University of New South Wales. He is a published novelist and a playwright.

Erica S.

Erica attended Stanford University, where she majored in International Relations and double minored in Economics and Modern Languages (French and Arabic). As a Marshall Scholar, she completed an MA in Middle Eastern Studies at SOAS University of London and an MA in Conflict Resolution at King’s College London.

After her Master’s in Early Modern European History at Oxford, she went on to pursue her PhD in in History and Middle Eastern Studies at Harvard. She is now an Assistant Professor of History at Wesleyan University, where she teaches the history of the Middle East.

Elia graduated from the University of Chicago with a BS in Mathematics and was awarded the Paul R. Cohen prize for achieving the one of the highest academic records in the field of mathematics in his class. Currently, he is completing a PhD in Mathematics at MIT.

Mary accepted a full-ride scholarship to the University of Pittsburgh, where she graduated summa cum laude with degrees in Biology and Spanish. She is currently pursuing her MD at Harvard Medical School, where she is learning about the expansion of global surgery.

Marc is a PhD Candidate in Anthropology at the University of Chicago. Previously, he earned his MA in South Asian Studies at the University of Pennsylvania on a full merit scholarship and his BA in Philosophy at Kalamazoo College.

Victor double majored in Complex Systems and Mathematics at Cornell, where he graduated summa cum laude and Phi Beta Kappa. He starts his PhD in Applied Math at Princeton in September 2024.

With a Bachelor's degree from Hamilton College and a Master’s Degree in Chinese Language Pedagogy from Middlebury College, Serena specializes in teaching Mandarin Chinese, Spanish, and American Sign Language.

Ziad earned a degree in Molecular Biophysics and Biochemistry at Yale (magna cum laude, Phi Beta Kappa). He is currently working at biotech startup Atias Pharma in Cambridge, Massachusetts, with plans to pursue his MD at the University of Pennsylvania next.

Judy pursued her bachelor’s degree in History of Science at Harvard University, graduating magna cum laude and Phi Beta Kappa. She subsequently earned her master of science degree in History of Science, Medicine and Technology from the University of Oxford.

Crystal graduated summa cum laude with a degree in Public Health Science from the University of Maryland, College Park. She recently moved to Long Island to pursue a 3 year accelerated MD program at NYU Grossman Long Island School of Medicine.

Myeongseo

MyeongSeo received a Bachelor’s degree with High Honors in the field of Mathematics at Harvard College, with a secondary field of Computer Science and a language citation in Mandarin Chinese. They will begin a Ph.D. program in Mathematics at Johns Hopkins University in the Fall of 2024.

Emily holds a BS in Biology and a BA in Anthropology from Brown University. She received the Fulbright Fellowship to conduct pediatric oncology research in the Netherlands. She then earned her Master's of Bioethics at Harvard Medical School, and has since returned as a medical student.

Neetij graduated from St. Olaf College with a major in Biology and a minor in Biochemistry. He developed a love of research as an NIH IRTA fellow and as a scholar within the Fulbright US Student program, and he is now pursuing an MD at the Washington University School of Medicine in St. Louis.

Cecilia Y.

Cecilia graduated from the University of Cambridge in 2021 with a starred first-class degree in Classics, scoring the year’s highest mark on the Latin and Greek textual criticism exam and graduating third in her class. After obtaining her MPhil in Latin literature the following year, she won a scholarship to study at Harvard for as a Herchel-Smith fellow, an opportunity she used to study American history and English literature.

Victor holds an MFA in Creative Writing from Brown University, where he was awarded the John Hawkes Prize for fiction. He also earned an MA in philosophy from the University of Miami where he was awarded an Outstanding Teaching Award, along with the Martha S. Stoyan studied at Columbia University, where he was President’s Fellow for two consecutive years, graduating with an MA in Political Science with a focus on mathematical modeling. His research skills made him a top recruit for the Tokugawa Memorial Foundation, in Tokyo, Japan, where he worked on several projects related to American-Japanese relations.

Jim earned an MA from New York University and a PhD from the University of Michigan. He is on the faculty at Boston University and Tufts University, and he is a Fellow of the American Academy in Rome.

Richard majored in Biology and minored in English at Emory University, graduating Phi Beta Kappa and summa cum laude. After taking a year off to focus on research full-time, he is now pursuing an MD as part of Harvard Medical School’s Pathways program.
