Becca Tenenbaum
Talent Consultant

Becca’s passion for academic support led her to Cambridge Coaching in 2017, where she now leads talent acquisition. She specializes in identifying highly qualified candidates across all fields, academic levels, and subject areas, ensuring that each request is matched thoughtfully and effectively. There's nothing she loves more than finding that "perfect fit" educator for a tough course or an inspiring mentor for a struggling student. Becca is also passionate about Cambridge Coaching's social impact initiatives, and she greatly enjoys selecting tutors to work with the incredible students who come through those nonprofit partnerships.

Becca graduated cum laude from Tufts University, majoring in Political Science and Community Health. She then earned an EdM in Curriculum and Teaching from Boston University, and an MPH from Columbia University's Mailman School of Public Health.

Becca fell in love with education when she joined Teach For America as a Greater Boston (now Massachusetts) corps member. During this time, she was a 6th-8th grade Special Education teacher to students with moderate disabilities in a sub-separate classroom setting. Becca then moved to New York City, where she taught at Williamsburg Collegiate Charter School in the Uncommon Schools network. Over four years, she served as a 5th-8th grade Special Education teacher and as the Special Education Coordinator and Department Co-Chair. She was responsible for an IEP caseload of 60+ students and expanded the network’s first Integrated Co-Teaching model. Through this work, Becca honed her skills as an advocate and liaison between students, teachers, parents, and service providers.

In her free time, you can find Becca playing pickleball, indulging in a beach read, or playground hopping with her husband and two young children.

What is your favorite thing about CC?

The team is incredibly fun, hardworking, and values-driven. No two days are alike and though the work is constantly evolving, the central mission to deliver high quality support to both tutors and students stays constant.

What is something you're learning right now?

I'm currently reading The Anxious Generation by Jonathan Haidt and I am blown away by just how necessary a play-based and smartphone-free childhood and adolescence is in today's society. I highly recommend this book to everyone (with or without kids).
