Martha Wilkinson
Senior Director of Student Support

Martha started working at Cambridge Coaching in 2016, and finds deep and genuine joy in helping students and families navigate their academic and professional goals. She believes that anyone can achieve whatever they put their mind to with the proper roadmap, emotional reservoir, and network of support. Though Martha will partner with any student or parent, she has particular skill at helping medical school applicants navigate the opaque and intense application process.

Martha was born in foothills of the Catalina mountains, but soon left Arizona for the coastline of New Jersey. There, she learned the rules of kickball on her cul-de-sac, what the underbelly of a horseshoe crab looked like, and how to check a book out of the local library. Her love of books continued into college, where she studied English and creative writing. She graduated from Rutgers University magna cum laude. She continued on to receive a Master’s in Education from Rutgers, and briefly taught high school English and literacy before joining the Cambridge Coaching team.

When not managing her deeply talented and empathetic Student Support team, Martha enjoys reading novels (surprise), running with her labrador retriever, and making a Death & Co cocktail.

American Poetry with Mark Doty at Rutgers. I also met a friend who introduced me to my life partner in that class. Life changing, both poetically and personally.

What is your favorite thing about CC?

The people who make up the organization make the organization -- full stop. Our administrators and tutors are all empathetic, intelligent, values-driven, and talented. They make the work a joy, even on the tough days.

How to get my dog to listen to me.
