Marcella Manoharan
Founder and Managing Director

Marcella is the Founder and Managing Director of Cambridge Coaching. Since 2005, she has overseen the expansion of Cambridge Coaching from 5 tutors working in Cambridge, MA to over 1,000 tutors working globally. In addition to stewarding our tutoring operations across 6 major verticals (college, high school, middle school, MBA, law school, and the health professions), she manages our ultra-talented and deeply compassionate administrative team - truly the best in the business.

As we've gone from a tiny company to a slightly larger one, Marcella takes enormous pride in the care and attention we bring to every single student-tutor relationship. With a specific background in admissions coaching, Marcella oversees all of our admissions services closely, often reading students' personal statement drafts multiple times before they submit.

Born and raised in New York City, Marcella attended Saint Ann's School, followed by Amherst College (BA) and Harvard University (PhD). She left a piece of herself in Cambridge, MA, but now lives in Brooklyn with her husband and two children, who also attend Saint Ann's. She is an avid basketball fan, runner, cook, reader and writer.

She believes learning is as close to magic as anything in life.
