Jay Ben Markson
Student Support Coordinator

Jay Ben joined the team as Student Support Coordinator after 8 years as a tutor with Cambridge Coaching. He applies the same philosophy in this current role that he did as a tutor: detailed attention to the particular needs of the person he's speaking to, Socratic curiosity, and a deep commitment to supplying students with lifelong reserves of self-knowledge and direction.

Jay Ben grew up in Lakeville, Massachusetts, the little-heralded Cranberry Capital of the World, and went on to study at Dartmouth College and Case Western Reserve University. His chief fascination was always the creative power of language, which led him to a career in theater. In addition to performing on stages in New York, Boston, and elsewhere, he helped found and run MaineStage Shakespeare, a nonprofit summer classical theater, as its Associate Artistic Director and core company member. He's also narrated north of 50 audiobooks and applied his meticulous attention to the written word as a copy editor.

These days, Jay Ben lives outside of Boston with his wife and a prosperous rescue pitbull. When he's not running or playing a tabletop role-playing game, he's somehow failing to make zucchini grow in his garden.
