Jimmy is a PhD candidate in Sociology & Social Policy at Harvard. He holds a JD (Harvard) and BA in English and Social Studies (Harvard). Currently, he is a Lecturer on Law at UCLA Law and a pro bono attorney.

Paul C.
A graduate of Vassar College and Wits University in Johannesburg, Paul completed his PhD in African Studies and Anthropology at Harvard University in 2024. He is a Fulbright-Hayes Program alumni.

Amulya M.
Amulya is an Anthropology PhD candidate at Harvard University. She earned her Bachelor's in Anthropology from University of Chicago, where she graduated Phi Beta Kappa.

Tarek
Tarek is pursuing his PhD in History and Middle Eastern Studies at Harvard, where he has received the Certificate of Distinction in Teaching from the Derek Bok Center for Teaching & Learning four times.

Parker is a writer, filmmaker, and PhD Candidate in Anthropology and Critical Media Practice at Harvard University. He has earned several grants and fellowships, including the Fulbright García-Robles Scholarship, Wenner-Gren Foundation Dissertation Research Fellowship, and the Harvard Film Study Center Fellowship.

King F.
King is currently an MD student at Harvard. He earned his BA in Sociology and Health from University Notre Dame, and earned a MS in Global Public Health and Policy at Queen Mary University of London.

Ross is an MD/PhD at Harvard and UPenn. He received an MSc in Medical Anthropology (Durham University), and a BA in Middle Eastern Studies with a minor in Chemistry (UPenn), summa cum laude and Phi Beta Kappa.

Gabrielle M.
Gabby received a PhD in Government from Harvard University, where she won two Bok Center Awards for Excellence in Teaching. She earned her BA in Political Science and Spanish from Indiana University.

Cristian Y.
Cristian majored in Human Biology and Society, and minored in Global Health at UCLA. He taught Chemistry at Crenshaw High via Teach for America, receiving his teaching credential from Loyola Marymount University. He is currently an Anthropology MD-PhD student at UCLA.

Seth S.
Seth earned his BA from the University of Michigan, where his senior thesis on Brazilian welfare politics won the Sahlins Award for best thesis in the Social Sciences. After working as a Fulbright English Teaching Assistant, he began his PhD in Political Science at Harvard University.

Wyatt S.
Wyatt holds an AB from Kenyon College and an MA from NYU, both in English. He's currently a PhD student in Harvard's English department.

Brandon H.
Brandon currently teaches at Georgetown University. He holds a PhD in Cultural Anthropology from Princeton, a JD from Georgetown University, and an MA and BA in Latin American Studies from UT at Austin.

Michae O.
Michael holds a BA in Mathematics and American Studies at Wesleyan University, and a PhD in American Studies at Harvard University. His studies focus on 19th century US history and the history of the life sciences.

Connor M.
Connor is a PhD Candidate in Religion at Columbia University; his dissertation focuses on the relationship between religion, science, and technology in contemporary America. He also holds an MPhil and MA in Religion from Columbia, an a BA in Religion from Vassar College.

Courtney P.
A recent JD and MSW graduate from the University of Michigan, Courtney currently teaches at the University of Michigan Law School in a human trafficking problem-solving and social innovation lab. She received her BA in Sociology and Religious Studies from Grinnell College with Phi Beta Kappa honors.

Kiran
Kiran holds a PhD from the Department of Sociology at the University of California, Berkeley. She also holds a Master’s in Latin American Studies from the University of Oxford, and a BA in Political Science from Barnard College.

Kendall G.
Kendall is a doctoral candidate in Politics at the University of Oxford with a specialization in political theory. Before moving to the United Kingdom as a Marshall Scholar, Kendall attended Tulane University, where she graduated summa cum laude in two degrees – a BA in Political Science and a BSM in Legal Studies in Business.

Isaac Jf.
Isaac is a doctoral student at Yale University in the Departments of African-American Studies and American Studies. His research interests include black studies, phenomenology, psychoanalysis, queer theory, and sound studies. Previously, Isaac earned his BA from Columbia University in Women, Gender, and Sexuality Studies, graduating cum laude.

Alexandra F.
Alexandra holds a BA in Social Studies Education from Miami University and Master of Arts degrees in History from Miami University and University of Reading (UK), where she was a 2019/2020 Fulbright Scholar. She also holds a Master of Arts degree in History of Science from Harvard University, where she is pursuing a PhD in African American Studies.

Zachary L.
Zachary attended Wesleyan University, where he received a BA with honors from the College of Social Studies. He then received his PhD in Ancient Judaism from New York University, where his thesis focused on the Dead Sea Scrolls.

Miriam S.
Miriam is an MD Candidate at Harvard Medical School. Prior to medical school, Miriam majored in majored in Sociology and minored in Chemistry at Duke University, graduating summa cum laude and Phi Beta Kappa.

Psalm
Psalm attended the University of Chicago as a QuestBridge scholar, graduating with an honors BA in Anthropology. Now a student at Yale Law School, he focuses on civil rights law and is committed to making a positive impact in the world.

Benny received a BA in East Asian Languages and Cultures at Columbia University. After graduation, he was awarded a Fulbright to study at Yunnan University before completing his PhD in Social Anthropology and Critical Media Practice at Harvard University.

Sadia holds a BA in Social Anthropology from Harvard University. After graduating, she spent two years working in global health advocacy and policy work. Currently, she is pursuing an MD-PhD at UCSF.

Amisha
Amisha studied Sociology and Economics at Harvard College, graduating Phi Beta Kappa and magna cum laude with Highest Honors. She is currently pursuing a two-year Master's in Political Theory at Oxford University, and will attend Yale Law School in the fall of 2025.

Tyler
Tyler studied at the University of Pennsylvania, where he majored in sociology and creative writing, and graduated summa cum laude and Phi Beta Kappa. He went on to receive his PhD with distinction in sociology from Penn. For the past three years, Tyler has been a Lecturer at Princeton University in the Writing Program.

Devashish
Dave holds a BA in Political Science and Public Policy from Hunter College and an MSc in Refugee and Forced Migration Studies from the University of Oxford. As a Rhodes Scholar, Dave is presently pursuing his MPP at the University of Oxford.

Karl is a published author and has worked as a public policy consultant and policy analyst for a wide range of organizations. He holds a PhD in Sociology from UC Davis and a BA in Philosophy from San Francisco State University.

Jordyn
Jordyn graduated summa cum laude from the University of Pennsylvania with a major in American History and minors in Political Science and Urban Education. After teaching English in Spain on a Fulbright for the 2022-2023 academic year, she began pursuing her EdM and instructional certification in social studies at the Harvard Graduate School of Education.

Amytess
Amytess is a Rhodes Scholar and PhD candidate in Politics at the University of Oxford. Prior to her PhD, Amytess received her BA in Political Science from the University of Michigan and an MPhil in Politics and Comparative Government from the University of Oxford.

Caleb
Caleb graduated with honors and distinction from Stanford University with a degree in American Studies. He is currently a law student at Harvard Law School.

Kit completed a BS in Biology (Biomedical focus), a BS in Chemistry, and a BA in Sociology, with additional certificates in global engagement at the University of Hawaii. He is now pursuing a Master’s in Public Health at the University of Edinburgh on a Marshall Scholarship.

Nickk
Nick attend Stanford University, where he graduated with distinction in Urban Studies and a Minor in Economics, focusing on climate change and its impact on urban areas. Since graduation, he has worked in high-profile roles focused on climate change mitigation, most recently as a Special Advisor at the US Department of Energy.

Max Ro.
Max attended the Hackley School for thirteen years before graduating cum laude from UChicago with degrees in history and philosophy. He currently works as a Research Fellow under Professor Jeff Manza in the Department of Sociology at NYU.

Evie
After completing her BA in Economics and American Studies, Evie moved to New York to work for the Columbia University Justice Lab. She next pursued a PhD in Sociology at Northwestern University.

Matt B.
Matt holds a JD from Yale Law School and a BA from Brown University (magna cum laude). After spending three years working as an economic consultant, he is currently pursuing a PhD in Political Science at UC Berkeley.

Alexis
graduated with Special Honors and Phi Beta Kappa from the City University of New York, Hunter College. Annesophie
Anne-Sophie earned her BA in Comparative Literature from Stanford, her MA in Philosophy from the Sorbonne, and her MFA in Directing from the American Film Institute. Her short films, Cherubs and Dog Lover, earned awards like Brooklyn Film Festival’s Best New Director and a spot in CAA’s Moebius Showcase.

Myra
Myra graduated from the University of Chicago with degrees in Law, Letters, and Society & Gender and Sexuality Studies. Currently, she is a 1L at Harvard Law School to further her interests in reproductive justice and public interest.

Christopher S.
Christopher majored in International Studies at Boston College, with a focus on Political Economy and Development Studies. Christopher also minored in French, and graduated summa cum laude and Phi Beta Kappa. Currently, he is completing a Master's in Theological Studies at Harvard with a focus on Religion, Ethics, and Politics.

Alex majored in History and Women’s, Gender, and Sexuality Studies from Barnard College, where she received the Jane Gould Prize for Outstanding Senior Thesis, in addition to receiving honorable mention for Columbia University’s Women’s and Gender Studies Essay Award Contest. She next pursued a Master of Arts from Columbia University in Eastern European, Russian, and Eurasian Studies. Tutor Tiers
We have four tiers of tutor, with different hourly rates, which correlate to the tutor’s experience. We evaluate tutors for promotion to higher tiers based on hours worked, student outcomes, qualitative feedback, and volume of client referrals.
